Aberdeen fire crews were called to Kingston Gardens in Ellon on Friday, July 24 after a dwelling fire was reported at 5.28am. Five people were taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary after the blaze damaged a two-storey detached property.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said Operations Control mobilised four appliances and a high-reach vehicle to tackle the fire. A spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 5.28am on Friday, 24 July to reports of a dwelling fire on Kingston Gardens, Ellon.”

Firefighters arrived shortly after the alarm was raised, and footage from the scene showed smoke billowing from the house's windows into the sky. The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said five casualties were treated for smoke inhalation, while the Scottish Ambulance Service said it transported five patients to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.
The ambulance service said it received a call at 5.42am and sent two ambulances and two special operations response teams to the scene. That meant the response developed in stages: fire crews were mobilised first, then ambulance resources were sent after the incident was underway.
