On Saturday in Abu Dhabi, he is scheduled to face Damian Rzepecki, and the fight arrives almost a year after his last outing.
Zaynukov said he has been waiting for this moment for a very long time, and that sense of patience seems to fit everything around his run to the UFC. He earned a decision win over Lucas Caldas at Dana White's Contender Series, then became a far bigger name after the crowd incident with Dillon Danis at UFC 322 in Madison Square Garden. That episode also raised a practical question beyond the cage: whether he can re-enter America for future events.
A debut shaped by time, not just talent
The timing matters because Zaynukov is not arriving as a normal newcomer. He has already become widely known online through the “John Pork” meme, even though his real nickname is “Chanko,” a name tied to his hometown in Dagestan. That sort of attention can inflate expectations quickly, but it can also create noise around a fighter who still has to prove the basics inside the UFC.
He said the layoff has made the moment feel even bigger, adding that “after my last fight almost a year has passed” and that “it’s time to make our return in Abu Dhabi.” He also described the situation as a test, not just competitively but personally, saying that everything he and his team have been given is a test to keep them humble.
