Third friendly of the summer: Swindon Town Vs Bristol City at The County Ground

Bristol City will take on Swindon Town at The County Ground on Saturday afternoon in their third friendly of the summer, giving supporters their first substantial chance to see Michael Skubala's team in action this summer.

The game follows Bristol City's behind-closed-doors draw with Newport County on Tuesday afternoon at the High Performance Centre and comes after last Friday's meeting with Stockport County at the Pinatar Arena.

What Bristol City will be looking for

Pre-season results do not count for much until the real season begins in August, but this fixture still offers a useful checkpoint for Bristol City in the early stages of Michael Skubala's reign. Appointed in May, Skubala is still shaping his new side and using these matches to build rhythm before the competitive campaign begins.

Swindon Town, meanwhile, arrive as Ian Holloway's Robins. Last term they finished ninth in League Two, three points shy of Grimsby Town and the play-off places, so they will provide Bristol City with another competitive test.

Before the start of the season, Bristol City still have Newcastle United, Plymouth Argyle and Exeter City on the agenda. For now, though, Saturday's trip across the M4 is the next chance for fans to get a first public look at the Robins under Skubala.
