Jon Bon Jovi cut short his Madison Square Garden show on Thursday, ending the Forever tour stop nearly an hour early after telling fans he had to cool it. He apologized from the stage, then asked them to hold onto their ticket stubs while he said he would figure out how to reschedule.
The concert ran 90 minutes, according to a representative for Bon Jovi. He had already told the crowd, “I am the most grateful man in the world right now because I know I’m letting you down, and it’s not like me to do that. I feel f— great, but I’m gonna do one more song. I’m gonna need your help. I might have to cool it because I’m f— hurt.”

Bon Jovi performed “Livin' on a Prayer” before leaving the stage, and the audience sang the chorus toward the end of the song. Near the end of the concert, he told the crowd, “I’m sorry, I’ve got to go. Stay tuned.” He also said, “It’s just not going to get any better.”
The 64-year-old said the early ending came after he had been battling a sinus infection. That leaves the stop as a live-show disruption at the end of a nine-show residency, and it lands during the first tour he has done since surgery in 2022 to repair a vocal cord injury.
Forever tour and rescheduling
Bon Jovi told fans, “Don’t throw away your ticket stubs. I’m gonna figure something out, OK? Just hold onto it, we’ll figure out how to reschedule.” He did not give a new date from the stage, but he made the practical next step clear for ticket holders: keep the ticket and wait for the rescheduled plan.
That caution fits the larger picture of this tour. In 2024, he said one of his vocal cords was “atrophying” and described his voice as a “work in progress.” He also said, “I pride myself on having been a true vocalist,” adding, “I’ve sung with Pavarotti,” “I know how to sing,” and “I’ve studied the craft for 40 years.”

The Forever tour is set to continue overseas with stadium dates at Scottish Gas Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh on Aug. 28, Croke Park in Dublin on Aug. 30, and Wembley Stadium in London on Sept. 4, 6 and 9. For now, the clean read is simple: Bon Jovi is signaling a reschedule, and the ticket stubs are the only thing fans were told to keep.
