More than $5.5 million came from Anna and Greg Brockman, with the rest coming from smaller donations, according to Jenny Voisard. Greg Brockman is the co-founder and president of OpenAI, and Anna Brockman said, “Greg and I are grateful to all those who championed saving the home of these majestic eagles, Jackie and Shadow.”

The money is not meant to stop at the purchase price. Any donations over the goal will go toward long-term care of the land, and the acres will be preserved in perpetuity.
