The New England Revolution have acquired Jack Harrison from Leeds United FC and signed the veteran winger through the 2029-30 MLS season, adding a proven attacker with more than 375 career appearances to their roster on July 25, 2026.
The move is not fully complete for match eligibility yet, however. Harrison’s transfer still needs visa and international transfer clearance before he can officially step onto the field for the Revolution.
Why this move matters
For New England, the appeal is straightforward: Harrison brings experience, versatility and a track record that stretches across MLS, the Premier League and Serie A. The Revolution said he is being added to help bolster the attack, and that fits a profile built over 11 professional years at a high level.
Revolution General Manager and Chief Soccer Officer Chris Tierney said Harrison fills an important need for the club as it looks to strengthen its attacking group. Tierney also pointed to Harrison’s time with Leeds United, Everton and Fiorentina, saying his creativity and game intelligence should help him make an immediate impact.
Harrison, 29, also gives New England a familiar MLS name. He began his professional career with New York City FC after going first overall in the 2016 MLS SuperDraft, and he quickly showed what kind of winger he could be. In 2017, he played in every MLS regular-season game and scored a career-high 10 goals.
That early MLS success helped launch a long spell abroad. From 2018 through 2023, Harrison was a central figure for Leeds United, helping the club win the 2019-20 title and earn promotion back to the first division. He then spent time on loan with Everton from 2023 to 2025 before his first six months of 2026 at Fiorentina.
What New England is getting
Harrison’s recent numbers show both production and value in different roles. He recorded one goal and three assists in 22 games for Fiorentina, including six appearances in the UEFA Conference League. Across his career, he has logged 54 goals and 50 assists in more than 375 appearances.
His MLS background is just as relevant. Harrison made 219 total appearances in league play and postseason action during his time in New York, producing 66 goal involvements. That history should make his transition back to MLS more natural than it would be for a player arriving from Europe for the first time.
Harrison said the chance to return to MLS and join the Revolution was the option that felt most aligned with him. He also said being back in Massachusetts carried extra meaning, adding that he hopes to help bring a title to a city he described as full of champions in other sports.
For New England, the next step is simply getting the paperwork cleared. Once that happens, the Revolution will have a veteran winger under contract through 2029-30, and one of the club’s biggest offseason additions will be ready to factor into the attack.
