Gatwick no water hit both terminals at Gatwick Airport on Sunday afternoon, with the airport saying there was currently no water supply in either terminal. Toilets were out of order and restaurants were closed while staff supported passengers.
Paul Lee, a passenger, said he was due to take off soon. He told the: "I'm taking off soon, so that's fine, but for passengers in a few hours, this will be bad."
Gatwick Airport and SES Water
Gatwick Airport said the problem in the Horley area was under investigation and that contingency measures had been put in place. The airport also said bottled water was being made available to passengers and staff, and some restaurant partners had opened to provide additional seating.
SES Water said its service was resuming after an earlier power outage at its Bough Beech Water Treatment Works. In an update just before 13:45, it said the works were back up and running, but water still needed to be treated before service returned to normal.

Lee said he had not heard announcements about the issue and had not seen bottled water being handed out. He said: "For people who need to go to the toilet, this isn't good, and still no announcement or official information - and the water they mentioned isn't being distributed."
He also said restaurants and lounges were shut, while shops were open. For passengers moving through both terminals, the immediate question is whether supplies reach the building before the disruption spreads further through the airport's essential services.
