Montana Fouts added another major honor to a standout season on Friday night, when she was named the 2026 AUSL Pitcher of the Year and earned a spot on the All-AUSL Team.
The former Alabama softball ace put together a dominant run for the Utah Talons, helping the team secure the No. 1 seed in the AUSL Championship. Her season included four AUSL single-season records, a sign of just how consistently effective she was from the circle.
A season built on efficiency and consistency
Fouts finished the regular season with an 11-appearance workload that included nine starts, a 7-4 record and a 2.36 ERA across 62.1 innings pitched. She also posted a 63:10 K:BB ratio, which reflects both her ability to miss bats and her command throughout the year.
Those numbers helped define a season that stood out not just for Utah, but across the league. Being named Pitcher of the Year after setting four single-season records gives Fouts a clear place in AUSL history, and it also gives the Talons momentum heading into the postseason.
What comes next for Utah
Utah will open the AUSL Championship against the Chicago Bandits in Game 1 on Saturday, July 25, at 1 p.m. ET on ABC. Game 2 is set for Sunday, and if necessary, Game 3 will be played Monday.
Fouts has already done the heavy lifting in the regular season. Now the challenge is carrying that form into the championship round, where Utah will try to finish a No. 1 seed run with a title.
