Ocean Casino news: Ocean Casino Resort in Atlantic City paused all gaming and betting on Monday after a small fire in a linen room and a burst pipe damaged parts of the building. The resort said casino operations were expected to resume on Tuesday.

Atlantic City Fire Department crews responded around 5:30 a.m., and the burst pipe while firefighters were putting out the blaze sent water through multiple parts of the building. Part of the ceiling in the lobby collapsed, and the leak also reached some hallways and elevators.
No one was hurt. The water damage also affected the building's gaming support systems, and the resort suspended slots, table games and sports betting for Monday.

The shutdown reached a scheduled slot tournament set for 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, which was canceled. Crystal, an Atlantic City resident and casino visitor, said, "I was trying to play the free slot tournament here at Ocean.... I'm sad for Ocean, you know. It's a nice place. I hope things get up and running soon".
Luke, a Philadelphia visitor and casino visitor, reacted more directly to the cancellation. He said, "They're not doing me a favor. I can tell you right now, I'm hot. I'm going to win". He also said, "They know it, that's why it's flooded. I'm telling you, it's the only thing that matters, trust me. I'm on a heater."

Even with gaming shut down, the hotel, restaurants, pools and other amenities remained open. Avila Lounge relocated to TopGolf for the day, while the fire remained under investigation and casino operations were expected to restart on Tuesday.
For guests already on site, the practical split was clear: the resort stayed open, but the gaming floor did not. Anyone heading to Ocean for slots, table play, sports betting or the canceled tournament had to wait for the reopening tied to Tuesday's expected restart.
