E Line and W Line

RTD says the E Line runs north from RidgeGate Parkway in Lone Tree straight to Ball Arena and Elitch Gardens, while the W Line runs east from Golden and Jefferson County directly to the arena station. For riders heading to the Megan Moroney concert, that puts rail on the shortest path to the venue instead of forcing a drive into the downtown core.
RTD also said it planned to add rail cars to the C, E, W, and N lines for the Tuesday evening surge. The agency tied that move to expected increased ridership during downtown events, which is the practical signal for concertgoers: rail service is being adjusted around a crowded night, not treated as a routine schedule.
9th Street and Auraria Parkway
A bus option is also in play. RTD said riders can use a bus to reach 9th Street and Auraria Parkway, then make a short walk to Ball Arena. That matters for people coming from parts of Denver where rail is less direct, because it gives them a way into the arena area without having to solve parking or rideshare congestion on the spot.
The same evening brings a second major draw to downtown Denver, with AC/DC scheduled around 7 p.m. at Empower Field at Mile High. That overlap is the pressure point in RTD’s planning: two concerts, one night, and a transit network that has to absorb both without forcing everyone onto the same last-mile routes.
RTD Next Ride App
RTD said the RTD Next Ride App can map a trip by typing in Empower Field or Ball Arena, a useful fallback for riders who want the least guesswork before they leave. For Megan Moroney at Ball Arena, the agency’s message is simple: use the E Line or W Line if you can, use the bus if that is the cleaner route, and expect heavier rail service than usual on the C, E, W and N lines.
The only missing piece is the scale of that boost. RTD said it would add rail cars, but did not say how many, so riders should plan for a busier-than-normal ride and give themselves a little more time before the 7 p.m. start.
