TVLine put five Fire Country characters in play for sheriff country Season 2, and Chloe Mackenzie sits near the top of the list. The roundup lands before both shows are due back this fall, which makes the crossover talk less like wishful fan casting and more like the next logical move for a shared story world.
Chloe and Tyler
Tyler is the emotional hinge here. Chloe Mackenzie’s son is in juvenile detention after accidentally setting the Zabel Ridge fire that killed Vince Leone, and he got the minimum sentence. That setup gives Chloe a built-in reason to cross paths with Sheriff Mickey and the rest of the sheriff’s office once Tyler’s sentence is up, so the character can return with an actual story engine instead of a cameo for its own sake.
That kind of grounded entry point is the smartest part of the list. Crossovers work best when they carry unfinished business, and Chloe has more of it than most of the candidates because her family story already reaches into both Fire Country and sheriff country. If Season 2 uses that connection, the series gets a guest spot that can move character beats forward instead of just borrowing a familiar face.
Four names already used
Bode Leone, Sharon Leone, Eve Edwards, and Manny Perez do not make the five-person wish list for one simple reason: they already visited Sheriff Mickey's team in Season 1. That leaves the roundup looking forward instead of backward, even though those four remain the obvious return candidates if the shows want to keep building the same world.
Jake Crawford and Hank Iglesias are the cleaner comparison on the sheriff side. They are described as spiritually similar, and Hank was promoted as a series regular in Season 2, which makes the sheriff's office feel more like a place Fire Country characters can move through rather than a one-off destination. The shared-universe logic is plain: once a character has already crossed over, the bar for bringing them back drops fast.
Audrey James in Edgewater
Audrey James is the other name with real narrative pull. She last appeared in Fire Country Season 4, Episode 4, when she and Bode Leone butted heads over a baggie of pills Bode had been keeping in his locker, then left the station because she thought it was best for both of their sobriety journeys. The roundup says she could resurface elsewhere in Edgewater for a short time, which gives the writers a narrow but useful lane if they want a return that feels earned.
Deputy Cassidy Campbell adds another layer to that possibility. Cassidy's sister went missing as a kid, while Audrey was abandoned by her parents as a child, so the two characters carry parallel scars that could justify a crossover without forcing it. TVLine's list does not promise any of these guest spots, but it does show which Fire Country threads still have enough unfinished business to justify a stop on sheriff country Season 2.
