Campbell Darcy has joined Spennymoor Town on loan from Hartlepool United, with the deal running until January 4th 2027.
The 20-year-old defender gives Spennymoor Town another option for the stretch ahead at The Brewery Field, while Hartlepool United moves a player on for a defined spell after he has already built up a useful amount of senior experience.
What Tommy Miller said
Spennymoor Town manager Tommy Miller said he was really pleased to bring Cam into the club. He added that Darcy will be an ideal replacement for Louis and praised his athleticism, saying he should provide a good option down the right-hand side.
Miller also pointed to Darcy’s background, saying he knows him quite well from his time coming through at Hartlepool and that he had a very good season at Hebburn Town last year.
Darcy’s path so far
Darcy came through Hartlepool United’s academy and made his professional debut for Pools in January of the same year he signed his first professional contract in 2023. That debut came at just 16 years old in an FA Cup Third Round tie against Stoke City.
His development has continued through a mix of first-team and loan experience. In September of 2025, he went on loan to Hebburn Town. After that spell ended, he returned to Hartlepool and scored his first senior goal in an Isuzu FA Trophy clash with Anstey Nomads at Victoria Park.
Darcy later returned to the Hornets and was part of a promotion-winning campaign to the National League North, adding another useful step to his early career.
What the move means
For Spennymoor Town, the loan brings in a young defender with pace, versatility and a connection to the region. For Hartlepool United, it is another chance for Darcy to keep developing with regular football before returning at the end of the loan.
With the agreement set to run until January 4th 2027, both clubs now know exactly how long the move will last.
