Florence, Modena and Terni
Temperatures have already soared to over 40 degrees in Florence, Modena and Terni, and this is the fourth heatwave of the year after heatwaves in Late May, the second half of June and mid-July. Lorenzo Tedici’s forecast now extends that pressure into the start of the week, with the hottest figures concentrated in central and northern cities.
Residents in the red-alert cities will face the highest heat warning on Sunday, while those in orange and yellow areas will still be under official caution. The unanswered practical question is how long the red-alert conditions will last after Monday, because the forecast now only extends the extreme temperatures through that point.
