Tracy Spiridakos leads USA Network’s two Chicago PD marathons

Tracy Spiridakos is back on television in Anna Pigeon, and USA Network is leading into the August 7 premiere with two specially curated Chicago PD marathons. The first block starts August 1 at 12 pm ET under the title Best of Upton: Tracy’s Picks, a clear signal that the network is using her Chicago PD run as the launch pad.

Best of Upton: Tracy’s Picks

The August 1 marathon runs 12 hours and pulls from season 5, season 6, and season 7 of Chicago PD. It gives the network a built-in bridge from Detective Hailey Upton to Spiridakos’s new lead role, keeping her name in circulation for six days before Anna Pigeon arrives.

Spiridakos spent seven seasons playing Detective Hailey Upton on Chicago PD, which is the credit USA Network is leaning on most heavily here. That choice is practical, not decorative: a character-driven marathon gives returning viewers a reason to re-engage while giving new viewers a sample of the performance that carried her through the series.

Chicago PD for August

The first marathon includes 12 episodes: “Fallen,” “Captive,” “Ghosts,” “Allegiance,” “Homecoming,” “Brotherhood,” “Ties That Bind,” “Reckoning,” “Informant,” “Mercy,” “The Devil You Know,” and “Intimate Violence.” The lineup spans the end of one run and the middle of another, so the programming is built around Upton’s arc rather than a random assortment of reruns.

That leaves the second Chicago PD marathon as the unresolved piece. USA Network has said there will be two specially curated blocks, but it has only detailed the first one, so the full shape of the August 1 promotion is still incomplete even as the premiere date stays fixed.

Anna Pigeon on August 7

Anna Pigeon premieres on August 7, and this rollout is designed to turn Spiridakos’s past work into a direct lead-in for her new title role. For viewers, the useful move is simple: tune in August 1 at 12 pm ET if you want the Upton episodes, then come back on August 7 for the new series. USA Network is betting that the handoff works because Spiridakos already has the television recognition to make it stick.
