Manchester United are preparing an opening move for Newcastle United left-back Lewis Hall and plan to step up their pursuit in the coming weeks.

Jason Wilcox, United’s technical director, remains the driving force behind the interest, and Hall is understood to be the club’s first-choice option for the position.
The reported valuation is significant, with Hall rated at £60m. That makes any potential deal a major one, but it also reflects how highly United view the role and the need to solve it properly rather than simply add depth.

Last season, Salinas helped Racing Santander secure promotion by winning the Segunda Division title. This summer, he also starred for Spain as they won the UEFA European Under-19 Championship in Wales. Barcelona and Atletico Madrid are also in the mix, which means United would not be alone if they decide to move for him.
