Barry Manilow concert postponed in Kentucky 45 minutes before the planned 7 p.m. start on Tuesday night in Lexington, Ky. He posted at 6:19 p.m. that “Due to unforeseen circumstances tonight’s show in Lexington has been rescheduled,” and the change landed with almost no runway for ticket holders.
The Lexington show was already scheduled to be his second postponement there this year. It had first been set for March 9, then moved once while he recovered from surgery for lung cancer, leaving Tuesday’s arena date as a reset on top of a reset.
Rupp Arena And Ticket Holders
Rupp Arena said all previously purchased tickets will be honored once a new date is announced. That keeps the transaction intact for buyers, but it also means they are still waiting for the one thing that matters most: the replacement date that tells them when the same seat will be usable again.
The timing made the move harder to absorb. Tickets were still on sale, fan club tickets had already sold out, and the announcement came less than an hour before showtime, which turned a normal concert night into a last-minute calendar problem for anyone already headed to the arena.
What Manilow Said
Manilow did not provide a reason for the last-minute postponement. That leaves the practical reading simple: the Lexington date is off for now, and the audience that bought in early will be kept whole when the new date arrives.
The absence of a stated cause also matters because he has already been moving dates while dealing with lung cancer treatment and surgery. In December, he said doctors had found a cancerous spot on his left lung, added that it had not spread, and made clear there would be no chemo and no radiation.
“It’s pure luck (and a great doctor) that it was found so early,” he said on Instagram in December. “That’s the good news.” He also added, “So, that’s it. No chemo. No radiation,” followed by “Just chicken soup and I Love Lucy reruns.”
Cincinnati On Wednesday
Manilow is still expected to perform in Cincinnati, Ohio on Wednesday. For Lexington ticket holders, the immediate next step is straightforward: keep the existing tickets and wait for the new date, because the arena says those seats will carry over once it is set.
The show was moved in minutes, not days, and that is the detail that defines it. A 7 p.m. arena date can still unravel at 6:19 p.m., but the ticketing fix is already laid out; what remains is the replacement booking, and that is what Lexington still needs.
