James Jordan has pushed Landman season 3 delay Taylor Sheridan into September 2026, and that timing breaks the November pattern Paramount+ used for the first two seasons. The actor said the next run will not begin shooting until then, which puts the show beyond its usual fall return window.
Jordan’s September start
“We start that sometime in September and we’ll shoot that through the first quarter of next year.” Jordan said that on July 29 at the Lioness premiere in New York, where he was speaking about the next chapter of Landman. He also said, “I believe we’re bringing back the same director, Stephen Kay, who I adore,” and added, “It’s going to be fantastic. Taylor is writing as we speak. It’s going to be 10 crazy, wonderful, funny and wild episodes.”
That puts the series on a longer production track than viewers have been used to. Landman Season 1 premiered on Paramount+ on November 17, 2024, and Season 2 followed on November 16, 2025, so the new calendar breaks a two-year November streak.
Earlier dates fell away
The September timeline also moves past earlier expectations. In late 2025, Sam Elliott said cameras were expected to roll around April or May 2026, and Billy Bob Thornton later said on Howie Mandel’s podcast that production would start at the end of August. Jordan’s July 29 remarks narrowed that down further, and then pushed it back again.
He said he is still finishing Special Ops: Lioness while also juggling The Madison, which is the kind of overlap that has become the practical strain on Sheridan’s productions. The show’s 10-episode order stays intact, but the calendar no longer leaves room for a November 2026 return.
Fort Worth, Texas return
Production will resume in the Fort Worth, Texas area, and Jordan said Stephen Kay is returning to direct the season while Taylor Sheridan writes the scripts. With cameras not set to roll until September 2026 and shooting running through the first quarter of next year, 2027 is the earliest realistic window for Landman’s return. For viewers, the message is simple: the wait is longer, and the series is now living on a later schedule than the one Paramount+ used before.
