Ghost Recon Wildlands got Last Rites today, a free update now out on PS4 and PS5. Yossef Benzeghadi said the team is “very happy to confirm 4K and 60 FPS on PS5 and PS5 Pro.”
The update also adds a linear story mission and new gameplay customization features. For players on PS5 and PS5 Pro, the most immediate change is performance: the game now runs with 4K output and 60 FPS support.

Benzeghadi, the Live Strategy & Analytics Director, said the team did not initially understand what some players were doing in the Bolivian Wildlands. He said community interviews and data-informed playtests changed that view. “They were role playing, ranging from cooperative mil-sim to simply adding extra optional layers of challenges on top of the game just for fun, taking hours to complete one mission perfectly.”
That pattern helps explain why Last Rites leans into control rather than a single fixed way to play. The new Ghost Parameters in the Options menu let players enable instant death or limitless revives, choose one or two primary weapons, and decide whether unused ammo carries over when they reload.

The World and Session Settings in the Lobby page give players another layer of control over a match. They can change the weather, time of day, alarms, jammers, and the rate of enemy patrols. In co-op, they can also enable friendly fire.
HUD and UI settings are more customizable than before. The game can still be played solo or with up to four players in co-op, which keeps the update useful for both individual runs and coordinated sessions.

Wildlands launched nearly a decade ago, yet Last Rites is being added now and is presented as something players wanted by popular demand. Benzeghadi said, “Wildlands is a beloved gem within the Ghost Recon community, and taking down the Santa Blanca Cartel is fondly remembered.”
The release keeps earlier postlaunch content in place, including Ghost Mode and Clancy-verse missions featuring Splinter Cell or Rainbow Six Siege.
