Grimsby Town have signed forward Iwan Morgan from Brentford on a three-year contract that runs until the summer of 2029.
The 20-year-old arrives at Blundell Park after a productive spell with Brentford B and a loan move to Shrewsbury Town in League Two. He spent the 2024/25 campaign in strong scoring form for Brentford B, finishing with 25 goals in 42 appearances as the team won the Professional Development League title.
Morgan then stepped into senior football during the second half of last season with Shrewsbury Town, where he made 22 appearances and scored three goals. That experience gives Grimsby Town a forward who has already tasted the Football League while still carrying the profile of a young player with room to grow.

David Artell said the club had admired Morgan for a while and believes he has enormous potential. He described the forward as quick, intelligent with his movement and someone who works tirelessly for the team. Artell also pointed to Morgan’s development at strong football environments and said Grimsby believe this is the right place for him to take the next steps in his career.
For Morgan, the move is another step forward after a path that included academy football with Cardiff City and Swansea City before he joined Brentford in September 2023. He has also represented Wales at Under-17 and Under-19 level, including the 2023 UEFA European Under-17 Championship.
Morgan said he was delighted to join the club after speaking with Artell and hearing about the plans for the team. He added that last season gave him a real taste of senior football and that he wants to keep improving, work hard every day and help Grimsby have a successful season.
The move is part of Grimsby Town’s build-up to the 2026/27 campaign, and it gives the club another young attacking option with recent Football League experience and a strong scoring record at development level.
