Duke Brennan is drawing interest from North Carolina and several other programs as he explores a fifth year of eligibility, according to reports.
The 6-foot-10 center spent last season at Villanova and was one of the key reasons the Wildcats made it back to the NCAA Tournament. Brennan averaged 12.4 points and 10.3 rebounds per game while shooting 65.8% from the floor, production that made him one of the more dependable frontcourt players in the country.
He also tied a program record with 14 double-doubles, a strong sign of how often he was able to control the paint on both ends. For teams looking for a veteran big man who can score efficiently and rebound at a high level, that kind of resume naturally stands out.
What the interest means
Villanova has already rebuilt its frontcourt in the transfer portal this offseason, so Brennan moving on would not leave the roster in the same place it was a year ago. Still, his market shows how much value a productive center can carry late in the offseason, especially one with a track record that includes major-conference production and consistent rebounding.
Oregon has also been in constant contact with Brennan, adding another high-major program to the mix. That leaves North Carolina among the teams watching a situation that could help shape frontcourt plans well into the offseason.
