FC Halifax Town will begin their National League season away to Forest Green Rovers on Saturday 8th August, with the match taking place at The New Lawn and kicking off at 15:00.
The opening-day fixture gives The Shaymen an immediate test on the road, and supporters who cannot make the trip will still be able to follow the action through free commentary from 2.55pm.
Leadership update and squad details
The club have also confirmed their leadership group for the 2026/27 campaign. John McGrath has named Cody Johnson as Team Captain, with Shaun Hobson appointed vice-captain.
That gives Halifax a clear structure heading into the league campaign, with the captaincy settled before the first competitive match of the season.
There is also more season coverage to come for supporters. FC Halifax Town say fans will be able to watch the team live on DAZN more than 30 times this season, while season tickets will be available to collect from The Shay reception next Friday 14th August between 2pm and 6pm.
For Halifax, the Forest Green Rovers trip is the first marker of the season: a league opener, a new leadership setup, and an early chance to set the tone in front of supporters following along at home.
