The Utah Department of Transportation first reported the crash just before 6:30 a.m. on southbound Interstate 15 near 12th Street in Ogden. The slowdown spread between Farr West and Ogden, and crews spent multiple hours investigating and clearing the scene.
Utah Highway Patrol response
Utah Highway Patrol said one person was picking up cones in the area when traffic began slowing on the southbound lanes. A second semi-truck then approached the backup too quickly and could not stop properly, which led to the crash.
Officials said no injuries were reported, and medical responders did not assess anyone on scene. That leaves the immediate question for drivers with a narrower answer than the crash itself: the lanes are open again, but the commute through that stretch may still move slower than usual while traffic clears.
