Donald Trump appeared late Wednesday in Las Vegas with a noticeably fuller head of hair, and the internet noticed fast. He spoke at Red Rock Resort while online viewers compared the look with how he had appeared earlier in the week.
Las Vegas hair change
The 80-year-old president’s hair looked different from his appearance on Fox's News at Night on Tuesday, and it also looked fuller than it had at a Cabinet meeting last Friday. That shift gave the crowd watching clips online a new detail to fixate on while Trump was onstage talking about taxes, communism, the White House, and a lawsuit over construction of his ballroom and bunker.
Trump also referenced his trade war with Canada during the 70-minute speech. The setting mattered because the hair change was visible in motion, not just in still photos.
Aaron Rupar and MAGA Voice
Aaron Rupar captured the immediate reaction with a blunt question: “Is Trump rocking a wig, or what the hell is going on here?” He also wrote, “Trump’s hair, uh, has a lot more volume than normal.”
A pro-Trump account pushed the opposite reading. MAGA Voice wrote, “I do NOT care what anyone says. This is proof that President Trump is aging in reverse. His hair looks absolutely amazing today.”
Walt Nauta and scissors
The speculation landed because Trump’s grooming has long been a source of commentary, including accounts that Walt Nauta carried scissors along with makeup, hairspray, and Tic Tacs for Trump. Maggie Haberman and Jonathan Swan wrote that Nauta would carry scissors so Trump could snip his hair when it got too long in the back, and Stephanie Grisham wrote that he sometimes used “a huge pair of scissors that could probably cut a ribbon at an opening of one of his properties.”
Gustav Fouche said Trump’s pinkish hair color “could be related to toning.” He added that violet tones are often added to neutralise yellow when trying to achieve a silver or lighter blonde look, and that too much violet or leaving it on too long can make hair appear pinkish rather than cool or neutral.
The White House was contacted for comment, and the question left hanging is whether Trump actually changed his hairstyle, color, or grooming routine before the Las Vegas speech.
