Hannaford Supermarkets announced a Hannaford deli produce recall on Saturday, pulling six deli and produce items after being alerted that Coast Citrus Distributors had issued a broader voluntary recall tied to salmonella. The company said the affected products were removed from store shelves.
Customers who bought the recalled items were told to check storage areas and freezers, not eat the products, and return them to a local Hannaford for a full refund. The practical issue for shoppers is simple: some of the items may already be at home, so the recall reaches beyond the shelf where the products were first sold.
Beans Rice and Cheese Burrito
The recalled deli items were Beans Rice and Cheese Burrito, Classic Beef Burrito, Chicken Verde Burrito, and Chipotle Chicken Tortilla Wrap. Beans Rice and Cheese Burrito carried UPC 030223082736 and item number 245321, with best-by dates from 8/7/26 to 8/11/26.
Classic Beef Burrito had UPC 030223083269 and item number 245461, with best-by dates from 8/7/26 to 8/12/26. Chicken Verde Burrito had UPC 030223082705 and item number 245451, with best-by dates from 8/7/26 to 8/10/26. Chipotle Chicken Tortilla Wrap had UPC 030223081616 and item number 213291, with best-by dates from 8/7/26 to 8/10/26.
Diced Jalapenos and Pico De Gallo
The produce items were Diced Jalapenos and Pico De Gallo Salsa. Diced Jalapenos had UPC 030223082712 and item number 226061, with best-by dates of 8/9/26 and 8/12/26. Pico De Gallo Salsa had UPC 688267575778 and item number 16237, with best-by dates from 8/9/26 to 8/12/26.
The recall followed an alert from a manufacturer that its jalapeno supplier, Coast Citrus Distributors, had issued a broader voluntary recall. Hannaford removed the impacted products after that alert, but the company still told shoppers to check the places where these items are most likely to sit after purchase — a refrigerator, freezer, or pantry — and bring them back for the refund instead of eating them.
For a shopper who already bought one of the six items, the immediate next step is to compare the package details against the listed UPCs, item numbers, and best-by dates, then return any match to a local Hannaford. The recalled burritos, wrap, jalapenos, and salsa are the items that matter now; the refund is the path out of the recall.
