Residents in parts of Morgan and Summit counties were ordered to leave on Sunday as the Rocky Canyon Wildfire grew nearby. The fire reached 2,800 acres with 0% containment, and the evacuation order expanded to cover more areas as crews worked the perimeter.

Residents evacuated from Whites Crossing to East Canyon Dam earlier in the day, and a second order went out for West Henefer between Hog Back Summit County and West Henefer Road. East Canyon State Park also ordered visitors out of the north end of the park, including Dixie Creek Campground and Day-Use areas.
Morgan High School's Trojan Century Center at 699 E. Young St. in Morgan was set up as a shelter for evacuees. The Rocky Canyon Fire started on Friday, and it was still growing Sunday as crews faced a fire with no containment line holding it in place.
East Canyon State Park
On Saturday, crews worked with dozers, roads, line construction and aviation to secure the perimeter, while Utah Fire Info told residents to stay alert, follow emergency instructions and avoid entering the burn-operation area. East Canyon State Park said, "An evacuation order has been issued for the north end of East Canyon State Park, including Dixie Creek Campground and Day-Use areas, due to nearby wildfire activity" and added, "All visitors in these designated areas are instructed to evacuate immediately."
State Route 66 was closed to all traffic, and State Route 65 from Henefer was also closed as crews responded. The cause of the fire was still under investigation, leaving residents with the immediate task of following evacuation instructions and waiting for word on when the orders and road closures will end.
