The Chicago Air Show will return to the lakefront on August 15 and 16, 2026, with a public rehearsal set for August 14. The show runs from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on both days, and people planning to watch from North Avenue Beach or along the shoreline should expect a busy weekend.

North Avenue Beach Viewing

Headliners include the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds and the U.S. Army Parachute Team Golden Knights. CTA And Millennium Garages
There is no public parking at the beach over the Air and Water Show weekend. Millennium Garages offers reservations for special event parking, and the city encourages attendees to use CTA.
For riders, The CTA Trip Planner is the route-finding tool named in the show guidance. Drivers and rideshare users are told to use the North Avenue northbound entrance to DuSable Lake Shore Drive for pickup and drop off, and to arrive early if they need a ride after the event.
Lake Michigan Restricted Zone
Boaters can watch from Lake Michigan, the Playpen or other spots on the water if they stay outside the restricted zone. The zone is typically marked by orange Do Not Enter buoys and patrolled by the Coast Guard, CPD and CFD.
