Lauren Boebert said Monday that she loves her son after Tyler Boebert was arrested in Garfield County on three felony charges tied to sexual exploitation of a child. He was released from Garfield County’s jail on Sunday after bail was set at $10,000 on Friday.
The court records say the arrest involved five felonies under suspicion, including sexual exploitation of a child, child exploitation with intent to deal in, sell or distribute sexually exploitative material, and a third charge tied to videotaped material. Tyler Boebert also faces two felony counts for contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Lauren Boebert issued two sentences Monday: “I love my son” and “We take these allegations very seriously and pray for everyone affected during this challenging time.” Tyler Boebert’s defense attorney is Joseph Gavaldon.
A warrant for his arrest was issued on Aug. 6, and court records indicate the case was apparently tied to an alleged incident in early 2024, when he was 18. The records identify serious felony charges, but they do not spell out the underlying allegations in public filings.

Tyler Boebert was released from Garfield County jail on Sunday after the court set bail at $10,000 on Friday. State court records say he has another hearing later this month.
The arrest adds a new felony case to a record that already includes earlier criminal proceedings. He was previously arrested in Rifle in 2024 on 22 felony and misdemeanor charges tied to vehicle break-ins, later pleaded guilty to one count of attempted identity theft, and was charged earlier this year with misdemeanor child abuse without injury. He faced a similar charge last year.

In both child abuse cases, a child he was watching wandered away from Congresswoman Boebert’s home. For now, the immediate court action is the hearing later this month, where the felony counts and the earlier case history will sit side by side in the record.
