“They are locked in a secret and that's going to be long-lasting and going forward, that's going to affect their relationship. Obviously, there's still the baby secret to come out at some point,” Shaw said, adding: “It's going to, it's got to happen at some point.”

Sarah walked into the house, heard the accusation and realised Dr Todd had raped Charity Dingle, which changed the scene from confrontation to panic in seconds. Dr Todd was then about to expose Charity's baby to Sarah when Sarah pushed him, and he slipped, fell, slammed his head on the table and died almost instantly.
That sequence leaves Sarah carrying one mistake on top of another. The death is already done, but the bigger pressure point is the secret Laura Shaw says will land later, because Sarah and Charity are “locked in a secret” that will alter how they deal with each other for a long-lasting period.

The Mirror said Sarah's life will be turned upside down on Monday in the fallout to Sunday's death twist. Charity, meanwhile, is said to be desperate to cling onto her secret, which means the story is not closing on the death at all but shifting into the cover-up around it.
“And how that will affect the story with regards to the murder and Todd, you'll have to wait and see,” Shaw said. That leaves the cleanest reading of the storyline: the killing is the shock that starts the fallout, but the baby secret is the one that will drive the next fracture between Sarah Sugden and Charity Dingle.

Leyla is the name attached to the baby secret, and Shaw has already made clear it is still waiting to surface. For viewers, that means the important detail is not whether the aftermath continues — it does — but which betrayal lands first once the secret finally comes out.
