Six people were arrested after a 23-year-old woman was found dead at a residential address on Bollinder Place in Clerkenwell. Police were called at 09:33 BST on Thursday after concerns for her welfare, and officers arrived with the London Ambulance Service.
The woman was found unresponsive and pronounced dead at the scene. Four women aged 20, 21, 23 and 26, and two men aged 21 and 24, were arrested at the address on suspicion of murder and have since been released on bail while enquiries continue.

Ch Supt Jason Stewart said, "This is a tragic incident and our thoughts remain with the family and friends of the young woman who has lost her life." He also said, "We understand that news of an incident like this will cause concern within the local community," and added that officers would continue to be visible in the area.
Stewart said the death appears to be an isolated incident with no wider risk to the public. That leaves the immediate police response focused on the one address, the six arrested people, and the effort to identify the woman’s next-of-kin.
Paul Waller's inquiry
Det Ch Insp Paul Waller said, "Our investigation is progressing at pace and detectives are working to establish exactly what happened in the time leading up to this woman's death."
That work continued on Monday, when forensic teams were seen at the scene and two forensics vans were outside the building. A police officer was also seen walking out of Valencia Tower on Bollinder Place that afternoon.
For anyone linked to the woman, the practical step now is contact with detectives as the identification work continues. The central unanswered point is still the sequence of events inside the building before she was found dead.
