Phantom Blade Zero is now available to pre-order, and Sony Interactive Entertainment has set a Phantom Blade Zero gameplay deep dive State of Play for August 17. The broadcast will show nearly 20 minutes of new gameplay, giving players a first long look before the October 29, 2026 launch.

Donnie Yen since 2023

Donnie Yen has served as creative consultant for Phantom Blade Zero since 2023, bringing martial arts and action filmmaking expertise to the combat design. He also serves as the Facial & Motion Capture Actor for Mó Yuan, who is Soul’s father. That gives the game a recognizable action pedigree before the public sees the fuller combat reveal.

August 17 at 10:00pm ET

The broadcast will stream on August 17 at 7:00pm PT, 10:00pm ET, August 18 at 3:00am BST, 10:00am Beijing Time, and 11:00am JST. PlayStation.Blog opened with, “Tune in August 17 for nearly 20 minutes of thrilling new gameplay,” then added, “We’re excited to share that Phantom Blade Zero is now available for pre-order.”

The pre-order trailer shows Soul battling enemies atop a speeding wagon and crossing blades with former comrades like The Hunt. That trailer is described as only the beginning, but the post also says the game’s intricate gameplay systems, dynamic combat, and central story characters will not be fully shown until the August 17 State of Play.

Treasure Basin and Legacy

Players who pre-order on PlayStation 5 receive early unlock access to the Treasure Basin accessory and the Legacy outfit. Both can also be obtained through in-game progression, so the pre-order path gives an earlier route rather than a separate reward tier. “Until then, Phantom Blade Zero launches on October 29, 2026, and is available to pre-order now on PlayStation 5.”

That makes August 17 the date to watch if you want the substance behind the trailer, while the current pre-order window mainly serves players who want the bonus items and a head start on planning for launch day. The only immediate follow-up is the broadcast itself, which should finally show how those combat systems and story beats fit together.
