In its statement, the said: “Unfortunately, a technical issue affected some of Judith Ralston's weather forecasts during the first week of August, causing the audio levels to be lower than intended.” It added: “We apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused and are pleased to confirm that the issue has now been fully resolved.”
Ralston has been part of Scotland since 1999. Last week, she made her UK debut to deliver the latest weather forecast, and later shared behind-the-scenes snaps of her time working in London at New Broadcasting House.

Some viewers complained on X that they could not understand her. One described Ralston as “mumbling” and having a “hard accent”. Another said they “can't understand a word” because of the “muttering”, while a third called her “incomprehensible”.

Ralston described her time in London as a “privilege” in a post that said, “I have just had the most interesting week in London working at New Broadcasting House - the mothership, presenting the National weather.” She also wrote, “I had the privilege of working with the best teams who are kind and generous and very talented.”
She added, “One big weather family.” In the same caption, she wrote: “Big love to @metmatt_taylor he's a king amongst kings, simply thee best my weather brother from another mother.”
