Adina Mihai and Madalin Dumitru were jailed for 17 years at Oxford Crown Court after admitting the manslaughter of Gary Mouat and Malcolm King. Mouat, 37, was from Oxfordshire and was killed after the pair travelled to his home on 12 July 2025.
The court heard that four men had their alcoholic drinks spiked with GBL, and two died while two others survived. Mihai and Dumitru each admitted two further counts of administering poison to surviving victims on the first day of their trial in June.

Mrs Justice Brunner KC sentenced both defendants after hearing that Mihai posed as a sex worker and arranged to meet men at their homes after advertising services online. Julian Evans KC said Dumitru would drop Mihai at a victim’s home and wait nearby, apparently armed with weapons in case of trouble.
Brunner said the amount of GBL given to the victims was haphazard. She added: “If you had stopped for a moment to consider the risks, as you should have done, you would have realised that you were creating a high risk of serious injury or death every time you administered that drug.”

Brunner also said: “If you had done the most cursory research you would know that GBL can be extremely toxic.” She told the court: “You left each victim alone in a state of deep unconsciousness, and a moment's thought could and should have led to the realisation that they might never come round.”
The judge’s comments set out the mechanism in the case: the men were drugged, left unconscious and then searched for property to steal. The property taken included cash, aftershave, jewellery and expensive watches.

The pair admitted the manslaughter of Malcolm King, 80, from Gloucestershire, in 2024 and Mouat in 2025. Mihai filmed a TikTok video while Dumitru drove the pair to Mouat’s home on 12 July 2025, showing the trip that ended in the Oxfordshire man’s death.
They previously lived in Birmingham before moving to Ilford. The case leaves two dead victims and two surviving victims on the record, but the court’s sentence is the main immediate outcome: 17 years each for the two defendants, with the judge’s remarks making clear the risk came from the drugging itself as much as the theft that followed.
