On Aug. 12, Katie DeLuca Arundel said on Conversations with Cam that she and Amanda Batula have known each other since third grade. She framed the relationship as one built on long history, even as she said the friendship had to absorb a lie, a warning, and a public reveal at almost the same time.
“I found out when everyone else found out, but I found out the details the day before the statement came out when I showed up to her apartment and was like, 'I need to have a conversation with you. What the f---k is going on?'” Katie DeLuca Arundel said. She added that she texted Amanda a week before the statement came out about “the nature of their relationship,” and said Amanda lied.
Italy, Lindsay, and Meija Moreno
Katie DeLuca Arundel said the conflict sharpened after she heard more from Lindsay Hubbard about West Wilson’s timing with Meija Moreno. That gave her a second, separate point of concern before the relationship statement landed on March 31, and she said she pushed back hard in private rather than letting the issue sit.
“I remember honestly after she filmed with Lindsay one-on-one, I had drinks with Lindsay [Hubbard] and she gave me updates on West's timing with Meija [Moreno] that I hadn't been privy to in the past. I raised real concern with Amanda. I was like, 'I don't think you should go to Italy with this man. He might drop you like a hot cake. Do you really want to give up everything? What are you doing?' Those conversations happened in private,” she said. The practical takeaway is simple: the break in trust began before the public announcement, and it was already documented by the time the statement arrived.
Public Support After Private Friction
Katie DeLuca Arundel also said, “Yes, we had disagreements in private,” and then drew the line that makes this story more complicated than a clean split. “I think two things can be true. Like, you can disagree with some things your friend is doing or actions they've taken, but you can simultaneously still think they're worthy of friendship and love them,” she said.
