The Miami Dolphins finished Day 10 of training camp on Monday, closing the last full practice day before they traveled to the nation's capital for a Wednesday joint practice with the Commanders and a Friday night preseason opener at Northwest Stadium.

That makes this a clear transition point in camp. After two weeks of work, the Dolphins are moving from internal installation and practice reps to a stretch that will better show how the roster responds against another team. For a staff looking to evaluate progress rather than chase practice highlights, the next few days should provide a more useful test.

What stood out on Monday

Jason Marshall Jr. was among the players who made an impression in the workout, finishing with two pass breakups. Malik Willis led the passing game, while A.J. Henning also put together a strong practice. Those kinds of individual standouts matter in camp because they often signal which players are starting to separate themselves as the team gets closer to game action.

The Dolphins also used Monday as a reminder that practice is about development, not a scoreboard. Jeff Hafley said players should focus on the process and step outside their comfort zone rather than worry about the result. In his view, practice is the place to figure out what a player can and cannot get away with before the games begin.

Mobility remains part of the plan

One of the other takeaways from camp is how the Dolphins view Malik Willis. Tutu Atwell said Willis can extend plays, which helps the offense when routes break down and receivers need a second chance to get open. Atwell added that having a mobile quarterback is a good thing and said Willis is going to make some great plays this year.

That fits the broader training camp theme: the Dolphins are using these early weeks to sort out roles, build timing and see which players can carry practice production into real game settings. With a joint practice on Wednesday and the preseason opener on Friday night, Day 10 was the last look at the team in a fully controlled setting before that next phase begins.
