The Texas Rangers and Athletics opened a three-game weekend series on August 14, 2026, with Kumar Rocker set to face the Athletics for the third time this season. Jump trying to settle in
Jump entered the game with a 4-9 record, a 1.38 WHIP and 103 strikeouts in 111 innings over 23 appearances and 21 starts. His last four outings had alternated between good and bad performances, which made this another important test for the rookie.
The matchup also came after the Rangers were shut out in Anaheim the previous night, so both clubs were looking for a cleaner offensive night. The Athletics, meanwhile, were trying to find something at home after a difficult season that had left them 21-39 at Sutter Health Park.
