Piccioli’s gown was built as a strapless column dress in silk satin, fully backed with silk organza, with a draped train skirt and a bow in back. Willis said, “He wanted it to be like a package that was being unwrapped.” The construction ran to 712 hours, including 405 hours for construction and atelier alterations, nine hours for the veil alone, and about 60 hours for the individually beaded organza petals.
