The former West Ham defender left in 2025 when his contract expired, bringing an end to five seasons in east London and 180 appearances for the club. But the reaction to his Saturday post shows how quickly his name can still stir interest among supporters, especially with West Ham reshaping their defensive options under Nuno Espírito Santo.
Coufal keeps the connection alive
Coufal has already made it clear he has not lost his affection for West Ham. In May, he said he missed the club, still considered himself a supporter and remained in contact with players there. He also posted: “I will be forever blowing bubbles 'til I fade and die”, a line that only added to the feeling that the bond between player and club is still intact.
That matters because Coufal was not simply a squad player at West Ham. He played a significant role in the club’s 2023 Europa Conference League triumph, and his final appearance came against Ipswich Town in 2025. For many supporters, that gives his exit a different weight from a routine departure.
