The post was captioned “D.c.” and later paired with a new blue logo in a post labelled “5.” For listeners, the practical takeaway is simple: Fontaines D.C. are no longer just hinting at a follow-up to Romance; they are building a release campaign around one.
Marianne and Six Shot Morning
On August 8 in Cádiz, Fontaines D.C. debuted Six Shot Morning and Marianne at their first headline show of 2026 in Spain. On August 14, they shared a 30-second preview of Marianne, and the track is set to serve as the lead single for Dopamine Chamber.
That sequence matters because it shows the band is not relying on one teaser alone. They have already moved two unreleased songs into public view, then narrowed the album rollout to a named single, which is how a campaign usually hardens from speculation into a release plan.
Romance sets the benchmark
Romance, released in 2024 and produced by James Ford, reached Number Two on the UK Albums Chart and was nominated for Best Rock Album. NME named it the second best album of 2024, so the next record arrives under clear commercial and critical pressure to hold the same level.
Conor Deegan III said in February last year, “It’s one of those things where we can’t stop writing – it’s something that we just do when we’re with each other.” Carlos O’Connell added in January, “We’ve been writing, it’s been fun. We’re at Reading & Leeds and there are a couple of shows before that. I think if the music is there, it could get busy.”
