Yahoo Fantasy drafters are still leaving Emeka Egbuka on the board longer than some of his market movement suggests he should last. That gap is the kind of thing fantasy managers need to notice early, especially when the same player is climbing in other formats.
According to Adam Pfeifer, Yahoo’s ADP has tightened up compared with ’s, but there are still meaningful discrepancies. Egbuka is one of the clearest examples. Even with his price rising in best ball and high-stakes drafts, he is still going after Tetairoa McMillan, Travis Etienne and Cam Skattebo on Yahoo.
Why Egbuka still stands out
The appeal starts with how his rookie season opened. Egbuka got off to a hot start before a hamstring injury interrupted his production, which makes his current Yahoo price look more like a temporary market hold than a final verdict on his season-long value. Pfeifer’s view is straightforward: if Egbuka had simply built on that red-hot start, his Yahoo ADP would probably already be in Round 2.
That is the key takeaway for fantasy managers. Pfeifer’s advice is not to draft strictly for positional or starting lineup needs, but to focus on price. On Yahoo, Egbuka still looks like a player whose draft slot has not fully caught up to the path he was on before the injury.
Other market mismatches to watch
Egbuka is not the only name worth noting, but he may be the most actionable. Pfeifer also pointed to Parker Washington as another player whose camp buzz has not fully translated into Yahoo or draft boards yet. Washington’s case is different, though the lesson is similar: summer reports do not always show up in draft cost right away.
The timing also matters. In last year’s Week 12 stretch, Washington became Jacksonville’s top target and posted a 25% target share and a 26% TPRR. That kind of production gives the market a reason to keep watching, even if the board has not fully adjusted.
What Yahoo Fantasy drafters should do next
The broader point from Pfeifer is that Yahoo Fantasy is not identical to, and managers should not assume player prices will line up across platforms. Yahoo may be closer overall, but the differences are still large enough to create value pockets.
Egbuka is the best example right now. If the market keeps moving the same way, he may not stay available at his current Yahoo cost for long. Pfeifer described him as screaming value on Yahoo, and that is the kind of label fantasy managers should pay attention to before the gap closes.
