Becky Lynch says Bianca Belair match at WrestleMania 38 is one of her favorites — Becky Lynch

Becky Lynch says her WrestleMania 38 match against Bianca Belair is one of the favorites of her career, and the reason has as much to do with the story behind it as the match itself.

In a recent career conversation about favorite matches, Lynch said she does not usually watch her own work back, but this one stood out. She pointed to the buildup, the pressure of the moment and the eventual payoff as the reasons it stayed with her.

Lynch noted that the match carried extra weight because of her return in 2021 at SummerSlam, when she came back after having her daughter and took the title from Belair in 26 seconds. She said Belair had every reason to question whether Lynch would fight to get the title back on her, especially with the possibility that WWE could have gone in a different direction.

Instead, the story reached the payoff Lynch wanted. She said she loved the way it was built, loved working with Bianca Belair and loved seeing Belair get that moment in front of her family. For Lynch, that combination made the match feel meaningful beyond the ring.

Finn Balor offered a different kind of favorite

The same conversation also included Finn Balor, who gave a separate answer when asked about a match that stood out to him. Balor said his favorite was an NXT Championship bout against Samoa Joe at a WWE house show in Lowell, Massachusetts in 2016.

Balor explained that the moment became memorable because of the reaction in the building. He said he remembered the silence after the pinfall, the crowd realizing what had happened and then the roar that followed when the shock set in. For him, that made the non-televised match feel especially organic.

Lynch and Balor discussed the topic after revealing that WWE Raw would be coming to Dublin, Ireland for the first time ever in an interview with Will O'Callaghan on Off The Ball.
