Donnie Yen has served as creative consultant since 2023 and also performs facial and motion capture for Mó Yuan, Soul’s father. That gives the project a martial arts and action filmmaking perspective that is built into combat design rather than added after the fact. The pre-order trailer showed Soul battling enemies atop a speeding wagon and crossing blades with former comrades like The Hunt.
