The injury interrupted a practice rep for the Chargers center, who joined the team this offseason on a three-year, $30 million deal. Jake Slaughter stepped in at center after Biadasz went down.

Why it matters

Biadasz arrived in Los Angeles as one of the more important additions of the offseason. The Chargers signed him after he spent the 2025 season with the Commanders, where he appeared in 16 games and started each one at center.

Before that, Biadasz had already built a steady NFL résumé. He entered the league as a fourth-round pick by the Cowboys in the 2020 NFL Draft out of Wisconsin, then later landed a three-year deal worth up to $30 million with the Commanders in March 2024.

For the Chargers, any injury to a starting center is worth monitoring closely, especially in a joint practice setting where first-team work is limited and every rep matters. The team will now wait for more information on Biadasz, while Slaughter’s quick entrance into the lineup offered the first indication of how the Chargers may handle the snapping duties if Biadasz is unable to continue.
