Leicestershire Police search Holbeach Road in Gary Piatek probe

Leicestershire Police searched a property in Holbeach Road in Spalding on Tuesday as part of the murder investigation into Gary Piatek. No arrests were made after the search, and the inquiry continues around a man last seen in April 2024 whose body has not been found.

The latest search adds another Lincolnshire address to a case that has already moved across Leicester and Lincolnshire. Police have now carried out searches over a number of weeks, using ground penetrating radar and groundbreaking equipment, after starting the murder investigation earlier this year.

That sequence matters for the people charged in connection with Piatek's death. Eight people have been charged, including Yosif Ibrahim and Omed Firuzman, who appeared at Leicester Crown Court in February charged with murder.

Broad Avenue search in February

Police executed a warrant at a home in Broad Avenue, Leicester, in February this year. In March, the force said no remains were found during that search.

Leicestershire Police also linked other people to the same case through charges that do not allege murder. Diar Muhammedy and Mabast Khalid are charged with assisting an offender between 17 and 25 April 2024, while Dilan Rabati and Ahmed Nabla are accused of acquiring, using or having possession of criminal property connected to a house in Broad Avenue belonging to Piatek between 1 June and 10 February 2026.

Leicester Crown Court charges

Dalya Rabati has been accused of acquiring, using or having possession of criminal property linked to the Broad Avenue property and money belonging to Piatek, and of fraud on 29 January 2025 for allegedly creating a false tenancy agreement for his house. Nazem Kakamando was charged with acquiring, using or having possession of criminal property, which the court heard was more than £140,000 in cash, on 10 February 2026, and with fraud for allegedly making a false tenancy agreement on 29 January 2025.

What prompted the Holbeach Road search is the open question at the center of the investigation, but the case already shows why the missing man remains central: Gary Piatek was last seen in April 2024, his body has not been found, and the police inquiry has now produced searches and charges across Leicester and Lincolnshire.
