Noah Schnapp is set to make his stage debut in London in Affluenza at Riverside Studios, with Janette Manrara among the cast. The production runs from Sep. 26 to Nov. 21 and opens Riverside Studios’ Mainstage Season 26/27.
Schnapp said, “I am so excited to make my stage debut in London with ‘Affluenza,'” after starting talks with Andy Sandberg a few months ago about “finding the right opportunity to work together.” He added that he wanted to be intentional about what he took on next and said he feels connected to the characters in the script.
Riverside Studios’ Mainstage 26/27
Affluenza is part of a season built around five new plays, and Sandberg said he wanted to launch both the play and the season “in just a few weeks” with Schnapp leading the production. He also said Schnapp’s screen work has “captivated audiences,” and that London audiences will now see him on stage for the first time.
The play is set against the ultra-wealthy social haven of the Hamptons and examines power and privilege. It also raises questions about moral accountability, family legacy, and the American justice system, while centering on a teen’s drunken car ride that ends in devastation.
Two roles for Noah
Schnapp said, “Without giving away too much, I get to play two very different roles, and it’s a story that’s really going to leave audiences talking and thinking.” He also said he is “thrilling to now be bringing this play to life in London,” and Sandberg said he is “honoured” that Schnapp connected with the script.
Tickets for Affluenza are now on sale, and the show’s run sits between the opening of Mainstage Season 26/27 and the season’s continuation with Sacrilegious and Expecting. For London buyers, the practical move is simple: the limited run is already live, and the first performance date lands on Sep. 26.
