Dreyer's Grand Ice Cream recalls Outshine Fruit Bars over Ice Cream glass risk

Dreyer's Grand Ice Cream, Inc. issued a voluntary recall of select Outshine Fruit Bars on Aug. 18, 2026, after consumer reports found glass in the ice cream product. The recall covers specific flavors and pack sizes sold nationwide, and buyers are being told to return them or throw them away.

The affected products are Outshine Strawberry, Watermelon, Grape, Tangerine and Black Cherry 6-Count 2.5 ounce Fruit Bars, along with the Outshine 24-Count 2.5 ounce Variety Pack Fruit Bars. Dreyer's Grand Ice Cream, Inc. said the recall is limited to those lots, and no other Outshine products or varieties are included.

Outshine batch codes and dates

The recall notice says the affected batch codes can be found on the package. The codes tied to the recalled product include LLA617603 with a best before date of 30 SEP 2027 and LLA620303 with a best before date of 31 OCT 2027.

That kind of lot-level recall narrows the search for shoppers. Instead of pulling every box from the shelf, the company is isolating the product by packaging details, which is why the batch code and best before date matter more than the flavor name alone. A buyer who still has a box needs to compare both.

WALNUT CREEK, Calif.

The recall was issued after consumer reports of glass found in the product. Dreyer's Grand Ice Cream, Inc. said no illnesses or injuries have been reported to date. For customers with affected boxes, the company said to dispose of the product or return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.
