Lynn Devlin urges checks as The National Lottery leaves £1m unclaimed

The National Lottery is still searching for the player who bought a £1m-winning Lotto ticket in Aberdeenshire on Saturday, August 8, and has not yet claimed the prize. Lynn Devlin, winner’s experience lead at Allwyn, urged people who bought tickets in the area to check them again.

“Imagine discovering that a ticket you bought weeks ago is worth £1m,” Devlin said. “That’s exactly what could happen for a Lotto player in Aberdeenshire.”

Aberdeenshire ticket remains unclaimed

The ticket matched five main numbers plus the Bonus Ball in the second round. That combination left one prize sitting unclaimed while the claim clock keeps running toward February 4 next year.

Devlin added: “We’re encouraging everyone who bought a ticket in the area to give it another check. Tickets can easily be tucked away and forgotten about, and we’d love to reunite this prize with its rightful owner. It could be you.”

September 7 Camelot letter deadline

Anyone who does not have the ticket but believes they have a genuine claim can write to Camelot within 30 days of the draw. That 30-day period ends on September 7.

If nobody comes forward by the February 4 deadline, the prize money and interest will go to National Lottery-funded projects across the UK. For now, the practical step is simple: check old tickets from the Lotto draw on Saturday, August 8, especially if they were bought in Aberdeenshire.
