Colleen Fernandes said her 14-year-old daughter broke off contact with her after a conversation with Christian Ulmen. Fernandes linked the rupture to what she called digital violence and said the disagreement has left her without contact with her child for weeks.
She said the conversation between Ulmen and their daughter came before the break in contact and that the basis for it was lies. Fernandes, 44, said she went public with the accusation because she wanted her daughter to see that she should defend herself if something similar happened to her.
Colleen Fernandes and Christian Ulmen
Fernandes and Ulmen agreed to shared custody before the dispute became public. She said the first canceled contact with her daughter happened after the conversation between Ulmen and their daughter, turning a private family conflict into a matter she discussed publicly.
Her account centers on what followed that conversation, not on a formal custody change. Fernandes said she tried to arrange contact both gently and forcefully, a sign that the immediate issue was whether contact between mother and daughter would resume at all.
RTL interview claims
A former nanny gave a different account in an RTL interview and said Fernandes was responsible for the situation. The nanny said the child did not want Fernandes to go public with the accusations and wished that Fernandes would be “bisschen mehr für sie da ist.”
Fernandes called that statement false and repeated that she believes the daughter’s break from contact grew out of lies. She also said, “Irgendwie glaube ich einfach daran, dass wieder alles so sein wird wie vorher,” leaving the dispute tied to whether the family can return to the earlier arrangement.
