Sophie Boyne has reached the piano final, putting the 14-year-old from Nairn one step from winning Channel 4's The Piano. Her run has moved from local appearances to a national TV final, with the series climax due this Sunday.
Since July on Channel 4
Since July, Boyne has been showing off her musical skills on The Piano, and the final now gives her a chance to turn that screen-time into a finish. Aidan Henderson said, "Thousands of people applied to be on The Piano."
"So just getting on the show at all, let alone making the final, is an amazing achievement," he said. That scale matters in plain terms: the competition narrowed from thousands of applicants to one teenager from Nairn in the final, which is a sharp filter even before the voting or judging outcome is decided.
Elgin Community Centre concert
Boyne's next booked appearance is at Elgin Community Centre next month, when one of her concerts takes place on Saturday, September 26 at 7.30pm. Henderson said, "It's really important to us here at the Community Centre to be supporting up-and-coming talents like Sophie and we are excited to be hosting her."
He also said, "While the videos online are fantastic, you need to be in the room to feel the atmosphere Sophie creates." That is the practical switch for readers deciding whether to follow her beyond TV: the concert moves her from broadcast exposure to a live room where the performance is the product.
Belladrum and Highland's Got Talent 2025
Boyne recently played Belladrum Festival and won Highland's Got Talent 2025, two live credits that explain why the final spot did not arrive out of nowhere. Henderson said, "She's done so much for someone still so young. It's very clear to me that she's going places."
Whether Boyne wins the final is still to play out on this Sunday, but the career value is already visible. A teenager from Nairn has moved from regional stages to Channel 4's final, and the next step is a live concert at Elgin Community Centre with Roze McAfee also on the bill.
