Okada intercepted Cam Ward and returned it for a pick six during the session, turning one of the day’s most important reps into points for Seattle. After practice, Okada said he came down over the middle, tried to get Ward’s eyes off him and then read the crossing route before making the play.

Macdonald wanted work, and he got it

Macdonald said the Seahawks went into the practice hoping to get great work, and he believed the team accomplished that goal. He also pointed to the heat and humidity as part of the challenge, noting that some players dealt with cramps during the heavy session.

This was the third straight year under Macdonald that the Seahawks traveled for a joint practice, giving the team another chance to test its depth and execution against a different opponent before the preseason opener.

Jadarian Price keeps showing up

Friday also featured more positive signs from Jadarian Price, who made a big catch and a big run. That continued a strong stretch for him after returning to the field throughout the past week following time away with upper-leg soreness.

Sam Darnold also praised the running backs for their versatility, saying they have done a great job out of the backfield and have also handled work in the slot and out wide. He said they have stepped up when injuries have changed the group around them, and that their ability to catch passes and fill different roles has stood out all camp.

What it means for Seattle

For the Seahawks, the value of the day was in the variety of the reps. The defense got a splash play from Okada, while the offense continued to see production from players like Price in both the passing and running games.

It was also the kind of practice that gives coaches a clearer evaluation than a standard camp session. With live seven-on-seven and 11-on-11 work against the Titans, Seattle got a useful snapshot of where players stand as camp moves forward.
