Drew Campbell and the Time Capsule
Drew Campbell already had one piece of leverage before Dee settled on nominations. Earlier this afternoon, he entered the Time Capsule after America voted to give him the final power or punishment of Season 28, then told Barrett Pfeiffer and Rick Devens that he had won a power: the Never-Not Pass.
The Never-Not Pass lets Drew avoid becoming a Have-Not for the rest of the summer, so his name carried extra value even before the block came into focus. Around 4:30 p.m. PT, the live feeds returned with Lala, Mallory Aurichio, and Taylor Brown as Have-Nots, and by around 6 p.m. Dee’s three nominees were Drew, Lala, and Taylor.
Dee’s $5K BB Bribe
Dee had already been working the room before the nomination ceremony. Earlier today, Yash accepted her $5K BB Bribe, after she offered the same deal again this week following his refusal last week; the terms were simple enough: "should Yash win Head of Household in the future, he would not nominate Dee and Rick Devens".
That left Dee with a tighter lane than it first appeared. She was treating Lala and Taylor as locks for the block, but Drew remained the moving piece, and the decision had a built-in cost: Barrett warned her that nominating him would upset Mallory Aurichio and Melody Morris, two names tied to the Mosh Pit orbit.
Week 7 on the block
Week 7 now has three named targets and one clear power holder, which is the whole point of the hour. Dee’s second HOH win of the summer did not just reset the house after Kamu’s eviction; it also set the eviction board around Drew, Lala, and Taylor before CBS airs the nomination ceremony on Sunday night.
For Drew, the pass from the Time Capsule softens one kind of pressure while leaving the bigger one untouched. For Dee, the nomination list shows that a second HOH run can still force a choice between the people closest to her and the people she can afford to lose.
